INFRARED SAUNA BENEFITS*
- Detoxification: The deep heat causes profuse sweating, which can help flush out toxins from the body, including heavy metals and other environmental pollutants.
- Reduced Chances of Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia: One 20-year, 2,300 participant study, by Dr. Jari Laukkanen, found that regular hot sauna sessions reduced the chances of people suffering from Alzheimer’s disease and dementia.
- Weight Loss/Metabolism Boost: Although indirect, the increased heart rate and sweat can lead to calorie burning, contributing to weight loss over time.
- Pain Relief: The deep heat can help alleviate pain, particularly for those with chronic pain conditions such as arthritis or muscle injuries. The increased circulation also aids in pain relief.
- Relaxation and Stress Reduction: The warm environment and infrared light can help induce relaxation, reducing stress and promoting a sense of calm.
- Improved Circulation: The heat increases heart rate and blood flow, promoting better circulation throughout the body, which can help in muscle recovery and reduce muscle soreness.
- Improved Sleep Quality: Regular use of an infrared sauna can promote better sleep patterns due to its relaxation effects.
- Skin Health: Infrared saunas can improve skin tone and texture by increasing circulation and promoting sweat, which helps clear pores and rejuvenate the skin.
- Immune System Boost: The heat stress from an infrared sauna can mimic a mild fever, which might boost the immune system and increase the production of white blood cells.
- Improved Joint Mobility: The warmth and increased circulation can promote joint mobility, making infrared saunas beneficial for those with joint issues.
- Deep Heat Penetration: Infrared saunas use light to heat the body directly, allowing for deeper heat penetration. This can promote a more intense sweat at lower temperatures compared to traditional saunas.
WHAT TO BRING?
- Two towels. One to sit on and one to wipe excess sweat from your body. Sweating is your body attempting to cool you off. You want to wipe off the excess sweat to encourage your body to keep producing sweat and expelling even more toxins.
- Sauna hat. They’re fun, but not actually required.
- Book to read.
- Tablets and iPhones are not recommended in the infrared sauna due to the high heat. CrossFit FBG is not responsible for damaged electrical devices.
- Bring a friend!
What to Expect?
We want you to have the best sauna experience! Before you begin your sauna, you can choose aromatherapy for your session with our essential oils and passive diffuser. You can also enhance your session with chromotherapy! Once inside the sauna, you will remain for a duration of 1 to 45 minutes. Hydrating with ample water before, during, and after your session is recommended. Expect a significant amount of sweating during your time in the sauna - this is a positive outcome, as sweating aids in the detoxification process, removing impurities from your skin and organs and eliminating harmful free radicals and heavy metals that can have lasting negative impacts on overall health.
Precautions: If you have cardiovascular issues or other health conditions, take precautions and consult a healthcare professional before using the infrared sauna.
